"The perfect race for us"

A mix of friends, family and pro-sailors made Garmin Round Denmark Race inshore the perfect mix for Flux skipper John Haurum - here in front of his crew.

At 18:43:14, Flux crossed the finish line in the Garmin Round Denmark Race inshore for boats with crew. John Haurum and crew was the second boat in on the inshore course in the brand new X49e. The boat sailed head to head with the competitor, the Xp 44 Xbox. In fact, the boats were at Kronborg at the same time, and again at Bornholm they were within 1 nautical mile.

- We tried to the very end, but we did not manage to get around Xbox. Even though we have a longer boat, an Xp44 is a fast boat, not least when there is a light wind. In return, we sailed in several places wisely tactically, where we caught up with Xbox, said John Haurum after the race.

Making the boat faster en route

There was a good atmosphere on board the Flux, where the crew consisted of a mix of the topsails, friends and family, which was actually part of the highlight of the voyage for John Haurum.

- For me, it is wonderful to participate in this race with my sons their girlfriends and our friends. We also had professional sailors who kept pushing the entire crew and the boat all the way around the course. And we kept getting more and more speed out of the boat, which we hardly know yet. So it has been the perfect race for us, said John Haurum.

In addition to the skipper, the crew consisted of Thomas Feldthus, Rasmus Haurum Johansen, Kristoffer Haurum Johansen, Sarah Emilie Christensen, Sherdan Timmins, Jordan Biliald, Klaus Johansen and Mads Christian Taatø.
