Dates confirmed for Garmin Round Denmark Race 2027

You can now mark your calendar: Garmin Round Denmark Race 2027 will take place from 30 June to 9 July, as always with the start and finish at Aarhus International Sailing Center.

Around 700 nautical miles await the participants in this adventurous and challenging race around Denmark.

The route takes the fleet through the Kattegat to Skagen, before heading south through the Øresund into the Baltic Sea and around Bornholm. From there, the boats continue through the South Funen Archipelago and the Little Belt before returning to the finish line in Aarhus Bay.

The race creates so many friendships, stories, challenges, experiences and unforgettable moments that it is impossible not to get caught up in it. We are already looking forward to summer, to welcoming the GRDR fleet back to Aarhus and following them all the way around Denmark,” says Søren Ilsø Mahneke, Event Manager at Aarhus International Sailing Center.

In 2026, the German boat Haspa Hamburg set a new course record, completing the race in 85 hours, 33 minutes and 34 seconds. That is now the time to beat if you want to secure your place in the history books – and, not least, win a coveted Garmin watch.

You can enter Garmin Round Denmark Race as Singlehanded, Doublehanded or Fully Crewed. The entry fee is €300 per person, capped at a maximum of €1,200 per boat. This means that the fifth crew member and any additional crew members participate free of charge.

Taking part in Garmin Round Denmark Race includes much more than the race itself. The entry fee includes berthing in Aarhus from 28 June through 1 July 2027, as well as for 24 hours after finishing. Participants will also have access to Aarhus International Sailing Center, receive event memorabilia and event clothing, and have the opportunity to win prizes. Throughout the race, Race Control will be available 24/7.

Prizes will be awarded to the Line Honours winners as well as the ORC and Texel winners.

On the evening before the start, sailors and crews will gather at the Sailing Center for the Skippers’ Briefing and the GRDR Sail Away Dinner.
