Entry #1: HANSEN Sailing Team First to Sign Up for Garmin Round Denmark Race 2026

Updated: 4 days ago

HANSEN Sailing Team is the first to officially announce their participation in the Garmin Round Denmark Race 2026 – and they couldn’t be more excited. The team, sailing the Elliott 35ss boat Palby Marine, has nearly ten laps around Denmark under their belt and is looking forward to another challenging and varied race.

“For us, the Garmin Round Denmark Race is a regatta we love returning to. We have sailed around Denmark almost 10 times, and each time has been different. The race has it all – long stretches on open water and sailing through narrow, demanding passages. There is never a dull moment,” says Michael Møllmann, skipper of HANSEN Sailing Team.

After a summer in the Pacific, Palby Marine will first return home for an extended service check, but both boat and crew promise to be fully ready on the starting line on July 23, 2026.

Excitingly, Michael Møllmann and HANSEN Sailing Team currently hold the record on the Inshore route, which will also be sailed in 2026. The record stands at 91 hours, 13 minutes, and 19 seconds. Anyone who beats the record wins a Garmin watch – and knowing Michael, he might just be aiming for a second one for the other wrist!

With their extensive experience and previous record-setting performances, it will be exciting to see if HANSEN Sailing Team can deliver top results once again in next year’s edition of Denmark’s largest offshore race.
