Entry #9: JacobTakes on GRDR26 Single Handed Aboard Alba

Jacob Löwenstein has confirmed his entry for Garmin Round Denmark Race 2026, taking on the demanding around Denmark course sailing Single Handed aboard his Alba, a Luffe 40 designed for performance and precision in challenging conditions.

“I want to participate in Garmin Round Denmark because I love a good challenge, and this race is a challenge for me. I really like being out there in the elements and having to solve any problems myself,” says Jacob Löwenstein.

With four seasons of boat ownership behind him, Jacob brings both commitment and growing experience to GRDR26. He has previously sailed the Silverrudder twice, where he discovered a clear preference for solo racing formats. Those races helped shape his focus on Single Handed and Double Handed sailing, where preparation, seamanship, and decision-making are entirely in the sailor’s own hands.

Sailing Alba Single Handed around Denmark places high demands on endurance, navigation, and self-reliance—qualities that define one of Northern Europe’s most demanding inshore races. GRDR26 is a major Northern European sailing challenge, known for its varied conditions, tight passages, and long stretches where sailors must manage both boat and strategy alone.

Jacob’s entry adds another committed Single Handed sailor to the growing 2026 fleet, highlighting the strong appeal of the race within the Nordic sailing scene.
