Peter Strömblad from Borstahusen, Sweden, has entered Garmin Round Denmark Race 2026, taking on one of Northern Europe’s most demanding inshore races as a Single Handed sailor. Racing aboard his Elan 31, Modesty, Peter brings a clear focus on preparation, seamanship, and the personal challenge of sailing solo around Denmark.

“In October 25 me and my wife Lena upgraded our Senorita Helmsman to Elan 31 specifically for cruising and single handed sailing. I am really looking forward to the Garmin Round Denmark challenge in 2026. It will be a great adventure in our precious Modesty,” says Peter Strömblad.
The decision to upgrade boats was made with both long-term cruising ambitions and Single Handed sailing in mind. With its balance of performance and comfort, the Elan 31 offers a solid platform for tackling the varied conditions of the around Denmark course, from narrow straits to exposed stretches of open water.
GRDR26 is a major Northern European sailing challenge that demands endurance, navigation skills, and self-reliance. For Single Handed sailors like Peter, the race is as much about decision-making and consistency as it is about speed. Entering from Borstahusen, Peter joins a growing Nordic fleet preparing for an intense but rewarding inshore sailing experience.
