Before the official start of his sailing season, one of this year’s Garmin Round Denmark Race participants, Andreas Kristiansen, has been busy putting his boat to the test.
In a dramatic pre-season experiment, Andreas carried out a heel test to determine how much weight the top of the mast can handle before the boat loses its ability to right itself.

The result? 48.7 kg – a key figure when you’re preparing for inshore racing where stability and safety are crucial.
“It was a wild test, and it was truly exciting, and a bit nerve-wracking, to see the boat go all the way down to 90°!”
It’s this kind of dedication and curiosity that defines the spirit of the Garmin Round Denmark Race. With both feet planted firmly in preparation, Andreas is clearly ready to meet the challenges that lie ahead on the Danish coastline.
We look forward to seeing him on the start line!
