Henrik Jørgensen and his crew in the Xp44, Xbox, took the line honours and the top spot of the podium in the Garmin Round Denmark Race inshore 2022 for fully crewed boats.
The boat that is based in Rungsted in Øresund crossed the finish line at 17:26:34. Wednesday, June 22 and thus spent 4 days, 4 hours and 57 minutes. on the trip around the kingdom of Denmark on the inside - a course with a theoretical length of 640 nautical miles. It's an interesting fact that even though Ebox was beating all wa on the "Return from Bornholm-leg" to Langeland, they could lay the waypoint at Langeland - so no extra miles sailed.
- It was only on the stretch up to the Little Belt that we really had to beat, Henrik Jørgensen said after the race.
The highlights of the trip were for Henrik Jørgensen not a single thing but rather the learning experience over such a long period of non-stop sailing.
- We're a mixed bunch. Some have been sailing together for 20 years. Some are brand new. This is an effective way to get a team to play together, he said.
Emptied the freshwater tank
Among the less glorious moments was when the crew discovered that 600 liters of water had flowed into the boat via the toilet. Or when it was clear that a faucet had stood open and emptied most of the fresh water tank.
In addition to skipper Henrik Jørgensen, the crew consisted of: Christian Grønborg, Henrik Grønborg, Lasse Grønborg, Henrik Buch, Brian Habekost, Bo Chidekel Hansen, Glenn Retz and Jens Almdal.
