For years, Lasse Poulsen has talked about taking on the Garmin Round Denmark Race. An experienced offshore sailor, he has tested his skills in 100 Miles in the Fjord and Silverrudder, but the full race around Denmark remained an unfulfilled ambition.

Apparently, he had been talking about it a lot—because last week, his wife had had enough.
"I have participated several times in 100 Miles in the Fjord and Silverrudder and have for years spoken about starting the Garmin Race Around Denmark. I must have been speaking a lot. Last week my wife told me it's time to get it done."
And just like that, the decision was made. No more excuses. No more delays. Lasse has officially signed up for GRDR 2025!
He will take on the challenge in the singlehand discipline in his X-99, Voxeværk, a boat built for speed and endurance.
Now, the real work begins—preparing for the unpredictable conditions, the sleep deprivation, and the strategic decisions that come with solo inshore racing.
One thing is certain: when your wife tells you it’s time to do something, you do it.
