Status Day 8 - the end is near

It looks like the final day of Garmin Round Denmark Race inshore and offshore. At midnight June 24 five boats are still at sea making their way back to Aarhus. On the singlehanded inshore course the boats Lady Stardust skippered by Norweigan legend Mikael Khei (Albin Nova) and Bliss skippered by Dutch sailor Madelon Kuiper (Winner 9.5) are doing 7,0 knots. They are on the hunt for Wuchtbrumme skippered by Lars Christensen (X412) who's sitting in Lillebælt doing 0,7 knots. The wind forecast for Lillebælt predicts close to zero wind for the whole night and into the morning. The current is running north slowly until 08 in the morning then it shifts to south. So it is of course most important for all three to get on "the big conveyer" during the night before 08.

Singlehand offshore

The two remaining offshore singlehanded sailors Esben Pilegaard in X79 Relax and Robert Kuper in the sloop Lea have a easier way back to Aarhus. The wind is predicted to stay all through the night around 10 knots from east. The current won't play as big a role as in Lillebælt as the Storebælt is - wider.

When to expect them back

The boats are expected back during the daytime tomorrow. The Race Office in Aarhus hope and find it likely to see the first of the boats from around 10 in the morning and the last during the afternoon. Follow the boats on Tractrac
