The sailing experience of 2026

You can now register for the Garmin Round Denmark Race 2026, taking place from July 23 to August 1, 2026. One route. One adventure. 680 nautical miles around Denmark – an experience you will never forget.

As usual, the route takes participants past Denmark’s most beautiful coastlines and most challenging waters: starting in Aarhus, up around Skagen, down through the Kattegat and Øresund, continuing around Bornholm and Christians Ø, past Gedser, up through the South Funen Archipelago to Lillebælt, and back to Aarhus.

Solo sailing or teamwork

Sailors can register as single-handed, double-handed, or fully crewed, allowing both individual adventurers and larger crews to find their perfect challenge and experience on the water. Whether you prioritize speed or the journey itself is entirely up to you – the Garmin Round Denmark Race offers both.

“GRDR is not just about sailing fast – it’s about the journey, the camaraderie, and the fascination of exploring Denmark from the sea. Over the years, we have worked to build and share the story of this adventure, which we believe is something truly special. Every year, experienced GRDR sailors join alongside first-time participants, creating the perfect balance in the fleet. We are extremely excited to welcome both new and familiar faces to another unforgettable edition in 2026,” says Event Manager, Søren Ilsø Mahneke.

The GRDR community

To enhance the experience, GRDR places great emphasis on participants communicating, sharing experiences, and celebrating highlights with each other along the way.

“We’ve seen how much the social aspect of the race means to participants, even when hundreds of nautical miles separate the boats. Sharing the big and small victories along the way, we are convinced, helps create a strong community – before, during, and after the race – and enhances each sailor’s experience significantly,” continues Søren.

The evening before the start signal, there will be a grand communal dinner at Aarhus International Sailing Center.

Garmin is still onboard

As title sponsor for the 6th year running, Garmin once again supports a fantastic prize pool for this year’s participants. And for the fastest sailors, there’s even more at stake: if a new record is set on the Inshore route, the skipper will win an exclusive Garmin MARQ Captain Gen 2 watch – a symbol of precision, adventure, and top-level sailing.

For a limited time, enjoy 25% off the entry fee using the code GRDR25OFF when registering.
