On Tuesday December 6 from 18:00 to 19:30 in the evening an online guide to Garmin Round Denmark Race 2023 (GRDR) Singlehand, Double-hand and Full crew took place.
Behind the presentation was the experts Jan Hansen and Henrik V. Jørgensen who hosted the online webinar, focusing on how to prepare for GRDR. Jan and Henrik have succesfully participated in several single handed, double handed and fully crewed races in Danish, German and Swedish waters. Now they will share their experiences and secrets with the aim to break down what it takes to participate successfully in long distance offshore races like GRDR.

– We are very pleased with the initiative and we are sure there is a demand for sharing information on true offshore sailing in our region. There has been a lot of talk about doing events like this focusing on safety and offshore racing. But it has only been words. Now something happens, which I highly appreciate, says Morten Brandt from Shorthand ECM; a part of the GRDR event organisation.

About Henrik V. Jørgensen
Xp44, X-Box a few minutes after the start in Aarhus setting out on the 670 NM long inshore course.
Henrik Jørgensen's boats are named X-box. For some years he sailed the X4.3 but in 2022 he changed to the more performance oriented Xp44. He and his crew hold the fastest official time for Full Crew on GRDR inshore 4:04:56:33 after beating the 2021 record set by the German TP 52 Rafale 4:05:25:04 in extreme light wind conditions.

About Jan Hansen
Jan Hansen will participate in GRDR 2023 in the new weapon the Aeolus P30. This time Doublehanded with co-skipper Helle Jespersen.
Jan Hansen's merits in GRDR includes taking the singlehanded and overall line honors in 2021 after a nerve wrecking showdown between himself and JPK 10.30 skipper Anders Johansen. in 2023 Jan Hansen is registered in the doublehanded discipline with co-skipper and wife Helle Jespersen an olympian medalist. They are competing on the inshore course in their new boat the Aeolos P30.
