Entry #7: Guess Whos Back. Back Again. Lars is Back. Tell a Friend

Lars Christensen has now signed up for Garmin Round Denmark Race 2026, returning for his fifth attempt at one of Northern Europe’s most demanding inshore races.

Reflecting on his long connection to the event, he says:

“Since 2021 I’ve seen the race as a great adventure – more a rally than a regatta for a single-handed sailor. Managing safe moorings within the 36-hour limit, handling my Wuchtbrumme (X-412) in changing conditions, and dealing with challenges like spinnaker issues off Grena in 2022 have all shaped my experience. I’m excited to return in 2026.” — Lars Christensen

Sailing Wuchtbrumme in the Single Handed discipline, Christensen brings decades of experience, from earlier ORC achievements with his brother to his current focus on single-handed and double-handed sailing. His familiarity with longer upwind stretches, as well as the demanding around-Denmark course of GRDR26, continues to define his approach to this major Northern European sailing challenge.

GRDR26 offers a unique inshore route and a chance for sailors to navigate diverse conditions along the Danish coastline. Christensen’s return adds depth to a field shaped by determination, seamanship, and strategic decision-making.
