Klaus Gram-Hansen joins Garmin Round Denmark Race 2026, bringing a full team aboard the Medvind, an XC 47 sailing Fully Crewed. As one of Northern Europe’s most demanding inshore races, GRDR26 offers a rare chance to navigate an extensive around-Denmark course shaped by tides, narrow channels and shifting summer conditions.

For Klaus, assembling the right people came naturally:
“My crew is a mixture of family and long-time friends. Once the proposal came up, it took less than a day to put together a crew for this unique opportunity for serious long-distance sailing in our fantastic home waters during Danish mid-summer. Looking forward to the challenge!” says Klaus Gram-Hansen.
With Medvind, the team aims to combine shared experience, trust and curiosity for the Nordic region’s varied waters. The Fully Crewed discipline places emphasis on coordination and endurance across the race’s changing sections—from sheltered inshore stretches to exposed capes—while keeping the boat performing consistently over the long route.
GRDR26 continues to attract sailors who want a substantial Northern European inshore challenge, and Klaus’s entry highlights the social dimension of the race as much as the technical one: a summer journey with people who know each other well and bring different strengths to the deck.
