Entry #17: Back for More - Lars & Jon Kaempfe Returns to GRDR with TRI

Lars and Jon Kaempfe has confirmed their participation in Garmin Round Denmark Race 2026, returning to the demanding around Denmark course with clear enthusiasm for both the sailing and the community around the race. Based in Flensburg, the GRDR-veterans will once again line up in the multihull fleet with their Farrier F31, TRI.

“We are very pleased to be participating in the GRDR again this year, to meet old friends and acquaintances, and to make new ones,” says Lars Kaempfe.

Sailed as an inshore challenge around Denmark, GRDR26 is regarded as one of Northern Europe’s most demanding races, combining complex navigation, shifting conditions, and long stretches of sustained focus. For multihull sailors, the course offers both tactical challenges and opportunities to fully exploit boat speed when conditions align.

Lars and Jon’s return underlines the strong sense of continuity in the race, where experienced participants regularly come back year after year, drawn by the unique mix of competition and camaraderie. With TRI, a proven Farrier F31, they will once again be part of a diverse fleet representing the Nordic sailing scene and beyond.
