With several seasons of long-distance racing behind him, Markus Linde is preparing for his biggest challenge to date: the Garmin Round Denmark Race 2026. Sailing double handed aboard Ocean Calling, a Sun Fast 3300 now based in Warnemünde, Linde sees the race as a natural next step in an evolving sailing journey.

“Sailing Silverrudder, Vegvisir and other races over the last years intensified our enthusiasm for long-distance racing, so we moved with the new boat from Berlin directly to the Baltic Sea. Round Denmark is a major step in our journey and the longest challenge so far. Will be great,” says Markus Linde.
Competing Double Handed, Ocean Calling will take on one of Northern Europe’s most demanding inshore challenges: the full around Denmark course. The race combines tactical coastal navigation, variable conditions, and sustained sailing over several days — a format that rewards preparation, teamwork, and consistency.

For Linde and his co-sailor, relocating the boat to the Baltic Sea was a deliberate decision, placing them closer to the waters and conditions that define GRDR26. From the busy traffic zones to exposed stretches of coastline, the race offers a comprehensive test of seamanship and endurance.
Garmin Round Denmark Race 2026 is a highlight of the Nordic sailing scene and continues to attract committed sailors from across Northern Europe, each bringing their own background and ambitions to the starting line.
