Last years Single Handed Line of Honor Rikard Roth is once again lining up for the Garmin Round Denmark Race, marking his sixth time on the demanding course around Denmark course. Sailing XAR, an XP-44, Roth will compete in the Singlehanded discipline, continuing a long-standing personal connection with one of Northern Europe’s most demanding inshore races.

“This is now the 6th Round Denmark Race for me. I look forward to visiting Aarhus again and even more to escape the normal day routines and just focus on sailing,” says Rikard Roth.
Based in Falsterbokanalen, Roth is no stranger to Nordic waters or to the specific challenges that define GRDR26. The race demands constant decision-making, stamina, and precision, particularly for sailors taking on the course alone. For Singlehanded competitors, the balance between speed, rest, and navigation is critical as the fleet moves through narrow straits, open stretches, and busy shipping areas around Denmark.

Returning participants like Roth highlight the enduring appeal of the race: not only as a competitive benchmark, but as a rare opportunity to step away from everyday life and focus entirely on seamanship and strategy. His XP-44 XAR is well suited to the inshore conditions, combining performance with reliability over long hours of solo sailing.

Registration for GRDR26 is open. Sailors can secure their entry with a 10% discount by using the code GRDR10OFF at signup: https://www.garminrounddenmarkrace.com/event-details/garmin-round-denmark-race-2026
