Jens Kirk Oksbjerg from Rudkøbing has officially entered the Garmin Round Denmark Race 2026, adding another experienced name to the growing Singlehanded fleet. With a long background in fully crewed racing, Jens is now focusing entirely on sailing alone and double handed—an evolution that naturally leads him to the demanding around Denmark course.

“Single handed sailing has always interested and fascinated me. I have sailed a lot of fully crewed racing on courses and completed Fyn Rundt 25 times. Now I only sail single and double handed, and after finishing both Silverrudder and the Vegvisir Race, entering GRDR felt like the right next step,” says Jens Kirk Oksbjerg.
He will be racing his Salty Adam, a Dehler 35 performance cruiser that balances speed and comfort - well suited for the long, tactical legs and varied conditions that define GRDR26. Jens’ experience includes some of Northern Europe’s most respected inshore challenges, giving him a solid foundation for navigating the race’s complex coastal waters, straits, and shifting weather systems.
Garmin Round Denmark Race 2026 is widely regarded as one of Northern Europe’s most demanding inshore races and a true highlight of the Nordic sailing scene. For Jens, it represents both continuity and progression: applying years of racecraft to a fully solo context, where every decision, adjustment, and mile sailed rests on the sailor alone.
