The coronavirus-situation is also this year giving all of us a few challenges. But unlike 2020 we’re now confident that the Garmin - Round Denmark Race inshore will take place.
However, as we have participants from all over Europe there are different rules and regulations apply for you to enter Denmark.
The following article is trying to give you the picture as it is today Monday May 17th, 2021.
The text refers to countries and regions of either the colours yellow, orange or red. The colors refer to an infection rate number of the area and country. The Danish foreign ministry updates the colors of the countries every Friday at 1600. We we’ll here on the webpage make short summaries of these updates with the most relevant info for you as sailors entering Denmark mainly from the sea.
Fully vaccinated or previously infected
Fully vaccinated persons and previously infected persons who are permanent residents of orange EU and Schengen countries, and who can document that they have completed a course of vaccination in an EU/Schengen country, are no longer required to present a negative test or have a worthy purpose for travelling to Denmark, and they are exempt from the testing and isolation requirements on entering Denmark.
To be covered by the rules for fully vaccinated people, you must meet the following requirements:
You must have been vaccinated with a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA). Please note that if you have received a COVID-19 vaccination in Denmark, the vaccine is approved by the EMA.
You must have received your final dose of vaccination at least 14 days, but no more than 180 days, before travelling.
AstraZeneca as the first dose and another approved vaccine as the second dose also qualifies as a completed course of vaccination.
You must be a permanent resident of an EU/Schengen country, and have completed a course of vaccination in an EU/Schengen country.
You can not travel from regions and countries that are red at the time of entry.
People who have previously been infected with COVID-19 must be able to provide evidence of a positive antigen or positive PCR test for COVID-19 which has been carried out between 14 and max. 180 days before entering Denmark to be exempt from post-entry testing and isolation requirements. Please note, that aviation companies from 10 May can only approve PCR-test as documentation for previous infection.
Foreigners habitually resident in a border region
Foreigners who are habitually resident in a border region (Schleswig-Holstein, southern Sweden (the provinces of Blekinge and Scania (Blekinge, Skåne, Halland Västra)) and western Sweden (the provinces of Halland and West Gothia)) can enter Denmark with proof of a negative COVID-19 test irrespective of the purpose of their entry. The test must have been taken no more than 72 hours before the time of entry.
All other
People from the rest of Europe are devided into groups referring to the color of their region/country - see the image above.
As of today, only Portugal and a few regions in Spain are yellow. The rest of the Europe is red. LINK TO A MAP THAT SHOW THE COLOURS https://um.dk/da/rejse-og-ophold/rejse-til-udlandet/rejsevejledninger/
Residents of Yellow countries
As more and more countries will become yellow these rules will apply to more and more people. No demand of a worthy purpose. Negative test max 48 hrs old before entry to Denmark. Mandatory test after entry to Denmark. No mandatory demand of isolation after entry to Denmark.
Residents of Orange countries
No demand of a worthy purpose. That means that all tourists from EU/Schengen can enter. There is however a demand of testing which apply 72 hrs before entering Denmark and max 24 hrs after entering Denmark. After testing negative when entering Denmark from an orange country/region an isolation period can begin. The isolation is broken after testing negative once again after 4 days (96 hrs.) At the moment we expect the authorities to allow that the isolation can take place on a boat. But we do not yet have that confirmed.
