Elliott 35 SS "Palby Marine," led by skipper Michael Møllmann, set a new "time to beat" that will indeed be tough to beat. It happened in the 2023 edition of the Garmin Round Denmark Race.
The timer stopped at 12:16:44. The yet-to-be-verified time stands at 3 days, 20 hours, 6 minutes, and 44 seconds, which appears to be a time that will be extremely difficult to surpass.
Hansen Sailing Team's time is 7 minutes and 23 seconds faster than the standing record for multihull boats. This record previously belonged to skipper Jens Thesen, who set the record in 2022 with the 40-foot carbon fiber trimaran "Magic Dragon." Hansen Sailing Team experienced a largely upwind-free journey with swift transitions between weather systems.
